Saturday 8th . Today we are off to Wiltz in north-west Luxembourg. Our coach dropped us off at the National strike monument.

On the edge of the town is the 12th Century castle which belonged to the former dukes of Wiltz now owned by the government and a museum. The castle houses the last privately owned commercial brewery producing beer via a micro brewery. A room in the museum has been created from all the old chairs and equipment from local pubs that have closed. We sampled some of the local beer in the sunshine.

The afternoon was free to do what you wanted to do..

Saturday evening saw us gathering at the hall for a three-course meal cooked and prepared by Fabrice Schenal of the FLM group. We were then entertained all night by a singing duo called Los Figaros

Sunday 9th we awoke to a sunny Sunday morning and at around noon gathered at the hall where Fernand Mack of FLM was presented with a big box of various UK bottled beers by Jill as a thank you to our hosts. We had the closing ceremony after which we were treated to a bowl of the group’s legendary pea soup.

At 1:00pm the group made there way to the coach for a trip to the Fete du Raisin et du Vin in Grevenmacherfor a show band parade.

Monday morning there was a trip out to the local village to visit the town for some and a tractor museum for others. In the afternoon we went for a trip to a former woolen mill now a nature reserve building on the river Sauer.
