Hello to you all and compliments of the season,

Well here we are again, all madly dashing around doing last minute shopping and buying enough food to feed an army. The New Year is almost upon us so we need to get our calendars marked and our ferries booked. I now have a few dates for you, not a great deal of detail yet but I expect that will arrive early in 2012.

Euro C.C. Bergamo 23rd.May to 28th. With prolongation till 2nd June.

There is a website for this rally it is:  www.36euroccbergamo.it      the site is still under construction. The Rally & Prolongation details are available; it is possible there could be amendments to these details so keep looking at the site. You need to do this anyway as details of the booking form are not yet accessible. Please read the Regulations.

Once we know the total cost of this rally all payments need to be with David by 14th.February 2012 as numbers for prolongation are limited to 200.

FFACCC Games Rally at Moulins.

It would appear that this Rally is to be held from 15th.to 19th. May with the prolongation to 23rd.May.

I can find no definite information because Club Centre has got nothing on their web site. I have written to them twice asking if we can participate but up to now have had no reply.

Club Est Rally 23rd.June to 2nd. July. Revigny sur Ornain.

Club Est has invited us to this rally, which is designed to give you a taste of this area.

Please arrive with full clean water tank, empty toilet and empty grey water.

Sat. 23rd.                        Free day to park up and explore.

                          6pm. Aperitifs at the Mairie.

Sun 24th.                        Those who want to can join a walk or a Cycle ride around the vicinity.

Mon.25th.           By bus to “The Florists Mill” where you will see the methods used in the last century for the production of decorative fruits and flowers for ladies hats and gowns.

We have our lunch here (I am not sure if we take our own packed lunch as it does not specifically say it is included)

After Lunch.     We visit The Charles de Gaulle Memorial and 2 Churches.

Tues.26th.           At 8.30 we go to Bar de Luc for the day to visit the wool Bergere (Possibly a woollen mill) as well as seeing the manufacture of jam and quill pens.

You can also visit the library at the Chateau de Marbeaumont, where you will find Photos and documents of the town, and wander around the park.

Wed. 27th.          Morning free to visit local market.

Afternoon          We will visit “Saveur d’Ornain” where they make the Strawberry flavoured drink (still or sparkling.) The Strawberry is “The Queen” of fruits in the region and is also made into Syrup and jams.

Thursday 28th.   This morning is for you to rest or explore on your own.

                           A marquee will be available for those who wish to eat with others or just need somewhere to sit in the shade and mingle.

Afternoon          Boules and Mijole (don’t ask, don’t know) competitions.

8.30pm.             Concert with ” Bibi et Allan” a repertoire of songs covering 60 years.

Fri. 29th.             Early (in a good mood) we board the bus for Reims, the city of many coronations.

We visit the City & Cathedral.

Midday lunch at a restaurant in the town centre.

Afternoon          Visit to MUMM Cordon Rouge Champagne.

Sat.30th.                         Morning free to rest and do own thing.

Afternoon.                     2pm. Board bus for Verdun where we will visit several Memorials of Remembrance

                          before going to the quarries at Haudanville, around 7pm. Here we will attend “Des Flammes A La Lumiere” the 2nd.Son et Lumiere of France, which depicts World War 1.

                                      (Again I think we may need to pack sandwiches, as it is a long afternoon.)

Sun.1st.              After your morning croissant a leisurely morning, and so the ladies do not have to prepare lunch a picnic will be served on site.

                         

Afternoon          At leisure with perhaps a friendly game of boules.

Mon.2nd.            Close of rally.

 

The price for this rally is £ 156. per person.

Cheques made payable to MCC/SERG to be received by Treasurer, David Clark, by 1st.March 2012.

Luxembourg Rally 7th. To 11th. September

The Luxembourg Club have again invited us to their annual rally. This time they are holding it in

“The Luxembourg Ardennes “ area. It will be on the “ campsite Fuusse Kaul”.  I have no more details at the moment.

Meuse Madine Camping Car.

Anyone who is planning to be in the area of Lac Madine in the middle of June might be interested in this event.  This is something members can book for themselves it is not a club event. Members have attended similar events in the past.
